Nambé Tri-Corner 7-1/2-Inch Bowl Overview

Year in, year out, since Nambé's beginning in the mid-20th century, certain products just maintain their appeal. The Tri-Corner Bowls are among those products. They embody Nambé's guiding principles of design: functional objects for the home, of the highest esthetics. It's telling that this bowl was designed by a sculptor, Richard K. Thomas.

Nambé Tri-Corner 7-1/2-Inch Bowl Specifications

The Tri-Corner bowl is one of Nambé's earliest classics. Designed by sculptor Richard K. Thomas, who also designed Nambé's iconic Butterfly bowl, the Tri-Corner is both a work of art and a functional bowl. The sides sweep up to three rounded points, connected by a gently dipping rim. Quite deep, and available in a variety of diameters ranging from six to eleven inches (there's even a 16-inch, 10-quart Grande version for the true admirer), the bowl looks stunning whether it's adorning a display shelf or serving a chilled salad or hot pasta dish at the table. Made of a metal alloy that retains heat and cold exceptionally well and won't crack, chip, or tarnish, the bowl is safe for use in the oven and freezer, but not the microwave or dishwasher. Washing by hand will preserve the bright mirror finish.

Nambé was founded in 1951 in a village of the same name in scenic northern New Mexico. From the beginning, the company focused on hand-producing high-quality, functional metal items such as bowls and trays with great attention to timeless, modern design. Still made in the USA, Nambé's signature metal alloy is liquefied, poured into a hand-made sand cast, and the resulting piece repeatedly polished and smoothed by hand. Exceptional gifts for the most special of occasions, Nambé metal bowls and accessories are now joined by porcelain and crystal pieces, each flawlessly crafted. Nambé ware has won numerous design awards, has been shown in or recognized by nearly two dozen museums worldwide, and is part of the permanent collections of many, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York. --Ann Bieri
